The following article is taken from "Gun Lake Revisited", a history of the
lake from 1877 to 1983. Photo's from the 1982 & 1983 Winter Festival.Today the tradition still goes on and is held at the Allegan County Park. In the early years it was held at Yankee Springs State Park and more than 5,000 people would be there to see the snowmobile races, enjoy dog sledding and cross country skiing. (page 4, 5, and 6) 1982
